91 episodes in, “The Fighter and The Kid” podcast, hosted by former UFC heavyweight contender Brendan Schaub and Comedian/Actor Bryan Callen, has become very popular. There are a lot of guests who are from the fight world given Schaub’s background, and Callen’s background brings in comedians. Something curious is although Bryan can’t beat Schaub in a fight, sometimes Schaub is funnier than Callen. Haha sorry Bryan. Here’s a podcast with the comedic powerhouse Russel Peters.
TFATK is now going on the road to sold out shows in comedy clubs. I don’t know what the live show entails, because they will not release them. They want to keep the mystery so heads will show, which I don’t see them having a problem with. If they come to my area I will go if I can. Right now there are only two dates and both of them are sold out!
Something that I think contributes and will definitely continue to pay dividends in views, is they are not afraid to hash things out between them on a podcast with no guest. In this one Schaub confronts Callen about being late to a meeting with FOX.
This has become one of my favorite podcasts and you should check it out. Right now.
I recently saw a 2 hour and 20 minute Joe Rogan Experiment Podcast featuring none other than the Roastmaster himself. He’s known as the Roastmaster of course because he’s been on so many of the “Comedy Central’s Roast of” shows and usually delivers the goods. Jeff has got some new things happenin’ and I think he deserves the attention so let’s check it out.
He just had a comedy special air on Comedy Central entitled “Jeff Ross Roasts Criminals: Live from Brazos County Jail”. whichI HAVE NOT SEEN!!! Wtf. I will see it soon though. Here’s the trailer:
Man I can’t wait to see that special. He also announced on the JRE podcast that he will be playing a part in this years season of “Kingdom”On the Audience network you can watch the trailer here.
Don’t forget to watch the JRE podcast, they are always good. He tells an awesome story about getting Mel Brooks to meet his uncle.
It amazes me that after seeing hundreds and hundreds of videos of different comedians I’ve never heard of I can still come across someone who has been doing it for a long time and I’ve never heard of them. That’s what happened today. I clicked on a Youtube clip of a comic that I’ve heard many times and was listening to it, doing something else on the other side of the room. Now that Youtube just plays random related videos now after everything you watch, this playlist came on:
Judy Gold! After listening to these clips I was lookin around and found she released a live cd in 2004 I then realized she has been at it for awhile. She hasn’t released a live album in quite some time, but according to her calendar she is still out there entertaining folks.
Judy co-wrote a book with Kate Moira Ryan called 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother. They interviewed 50 other Jewish mothers and asked them all the same 25 questions and the answers mixed with Judy’s own experiences are what the book consists of. She does a one woman show based off of the book as well and it looks like she’ll be doing that in Toronto this year.
On May 5th of this year Judy started a podcast called “Kill Me Now”. Here’s a descriptive quote from her website: “ Since Judy always seems to be pissed-off about something, she thought why not interview celebrities about what makes them angry – from the extraordinary to the mundane.” The latest episode’s (Episode 10) guest was none other than Artie Lange, check it all out here: Kill Me Now with Judy Gold
