Nicole Blaine and her husband, Mickey Blaine, executive produced the highly anticipated Quincy Jones: Burning the Light stand-up comedy special which debuted on HBO on June 2, 2016. Quincy Jones, a relatively unknown stand-up comic, was given one year to live after being diagnosed with stage four mesothelioma. His dream was to create an hour special before the year was up. Without a second thought, Nicole jumped into action by creating the Kickstarter campaign that went viral and raised over $50,000, which led to Ellen Degeneres. With her endorsement and their funding, their company produced the special, which HBO acquired.
The Blaines produced and directed the first season of Comedians Save the World, for Lucky Gal Productions. Featuring Hal Sparks (Queer as Folk), Kate Flannery (The Office), Rick Glassman (NBC’s Undateable), Joey Bragg (Disney’s Liv and Maddie), Michael Kosta (The Daily Show) and stand-ups Andy Kindler and Theo Von.
For the past six years Mickey & Nicole have produced the hit live stand-up show, Virgin Sacrifice. The show takes your everyday “Joe The Plumber,” puts him on stage for the first time, only to have major headliners open for him. The ever-popular show sells out every month at the Westside Comedy Theater. Mickey & Nicole developed a pilot, which is currently being shopped to networks.
The Blaines are producing a new live show and podcast, Drunk Debates, and produced two theatrical plays for the New York International Fringe Festival in 2005 and 2015.
