Before commercials became 5-second blurbs before a Youtube video, they were beautiful works of brainless capitalistic art. In After These Messages, we spelunk the depths of the internet to find long-forgotten advertisements from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.
After watching a random selection of these commercials, the Denver-based improv group Rumpus Room will perform long-form, narrative improv based on elements of the ads. Tab!, Puffalumps!, Best Foods’ Reduced Calorie Mayonnaise! There’s no telling which minute-long jingle might spark a scene.
