The Voodoo - Bar, Comedy, LoungeYou’ve got questions, and we’ve got answers!  See the questions below to turn your Q’s into A’s. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please email us at info@voodoocomedy.com or call us at 303-578-0079.

Unscripted comedy? What’s that?

Many shows at the Voodoo are unscripted, which means that the performers have not prepared anything in advance of the show.  For example, in a Hit and Run: Musical Improv show, the performers take the suggestion of a show title from the audience, and use that title to create a spontaneous Broadway musical from scratch.  Since many of our shows are unscripted, we never know exactly what’s going to happen, which is a potent recipe for comedy!

Where are you located?

We are located at 1260 22nd Street, Denver, CO 80205, on 22nd between Larimer & Lawrence, two blocks southeast of Coors Field.  Check our Map & Parking page for directions & more details.

Where can I park?

Check our Map & Parking page for some parking options.

Help, the show I’m attending is happening on a Rockies game day and I don’t know where to park!

Don’t panic!  Check out our Parking Map page for a detailed breakdown of where you can park for cheap.

How much are your tickets?

Tickets are usually $8-15.  Special event tickets may vary in price. Buy your tickets in advance and save!

What hours are the theater and bar open?

The bar opens at 7:30 PM Tue – Thu, and 6:15 PM Fri – Sat. We are usually open until at least 11:00 PM Tue – Thu, and at least midnight Fri – Sat.

When are your shows?

We have shows five to six nights a week.  Check our Show Calendar page for specific dates.

How long are your shows?

Most shows are an hour long.  After your show, you are welcome to stay and see the rest of that night’s shows on the house, subject to seating availability and special event status.

Do you serve alcohol?

Yep, we sure do!  We have a full bar and experienced bartenders to take care of you. We serve draft and bottled beer, wine, and cocktails, and we are proud to feature many local Colorado brands.

Can I bring drinks into the theater or out on the patio?

Absolutely! Any drinks purchased at our bar can be brought into and enjoyed in the theater and our spacious patio. No outside alcohol can be brought into the theater or bar, and all drinks purchased at the bar must be consumed on the premises. Any guests under the age of 40 will be asked to show ID before purchasing drinks.

Is food available?

The Voodoo does not serve food, but Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs is just around the corner from us, offering a huge array of exotic hot dog and hamburger choices, including vegetarian and vegan options. You are also welcome to bring in food from outside and enjoy it in the bar, on our patio, and in the theater during the show.

Do you offer karaoke?

We occasionally host karaoke events, so keep an eye on our calendar and Facebook page for more details!

Are you handicapped/wheelchair accessible?

Yes!  The Voodoo Comedy Playhouse is proud to be handicapped and wheelchair accessible.  The theater and bar are entirely on the first floor, and our restrooms are accessible as well.

Does the theater have any age restrictions?

The Voodoo Comedy Playhouse is all ages until 10:30 PM, after which the bar and theater are 21+ only.  No one under the age of 21 will be admitted into the bar or theater after 10:30 PM. Any guests under the age of 40 will be asked to show ID before purchasing drinks.

We produce shows that are geared toward adults. All ages are admitted to most shows, but some material may not be suitable for children!

Are your shows appropriate for all ages?

While the Voodoo does have an all-ages policy (until 10:30 PM), many of our shows are suited for a more mature audience.  Keep in mind that many shows are unscripted in nature, and while you generally won’t hear anything objectionable during most shows, some content may be unsuitable for young children or teenagers.

Do you have a dress code?

We do not have a dress code, unless a specific show or event has requested it; these shows and events will be explicitly listed on our calendar.

Do you offer private events, corporate training and workshops, or theater rental?

We sure do!  Hit and Run: Musical Improv and our many other comedy shows have entertained thousands of private clients over the past three years, and we’d love to do the same for your group, large or small.  Hit up our Private Events page for more info on private rentals for shows or parties, and visit our Private & Corporate Workshops & Training page for more information about our customized Denver team-building workshops.

Do you have a refund/cancellation policy?

Like most theaters and performance events, all sales are final.  Due to limited seating capacity and our arrangements with our unions and vendors, we are unable to refund money once reservations have been made. In limited circumstances, we are able to transfer reservations to another show; please email us at info@voodoocomedy.com for details.

We do NOT offer refunds for purchased classes (unless the class is canceled by the theater). Students who drop out before the class begins are entitled to a credit for a future class, pending availability. Students who drop out of a class after it begins are not eligible for a refund or credit. Class sizes are limited. Enrollment is dependent upon availability. If a class fills up you will be promptly contacted with other enrollment options. For enrolled students, a confirmation welcome email will be sent 3 days before the start of the first class. You must attend 6 of 8 classes (or 5 of 6 classes for 101) to take part in the showcase or pass through to the next level. If you don’t meet that, we are happy to have you repeat the level for half price!
