Drop-In Improv Comedy Classes

Presenting the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse’s drop-in improv classes! Helmed by Steve Wilder, owner and artistic director of the Voodoo, and Justin Franzen, owner of Grafenberg Productions and the Playschool at Voodoo Comedy Playhouse, this is your chance to polish up your improvisational skills without a long-term commitment. Come as often or as little as you like!

Steve WilderThis drop-in improv class is for ALL LEVELS of experience, from absolute beginner to seasoned pro. We’ll work through different concepts in every class, ranging from small scenes to group work to musical improv. No two classes will be the same! Bring your playful spirit and let’s explore!

Stephen Wilder has been improvising for over ten years, and he is the most experienced musical improv performer and instructor in Colorado. He has performed with and studied under Michael Pollock, the musical director of Second City Los Angeles and the premier improv accompanist in the country, and Shulie Cowen, the founder and director of Opening Night: The Improvised Musical in Hollywood. Stephen has had the pleasure of performing and teaching at the Los Angeles Improv Festival; the New York Musical Improv Festival; the New York Improv Festival; the Out Of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas; the Montreal Improv Festival; the Duke City Improv Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and the Denver Improv Festival and Colorado Improv Festival.


Tuesday Nights With Justin Franzen

Each week you can explore more of your improv self with this class.  If you’d just like to get up and play or focus on something specific, this class will help you grow and have fun while doing it.  This is for anybody!  So if this is the first time you’re going to improvise or you’ve been doing it forever, you’ll grow and have some fun.  So don’t be shy!  Come have some fun!
