Many shows at the Voodoo are unscripted, which means that the performers have not prepared anything in advance of the show.  For example, in a Hit and Run: Musical Improv show, the performers take the suggestion of a show title from the audience, and use that title to create a spontaneous Broadway musical from scratch.  Since many of our shows are unscripted, we never know exactly what’s going to happen, which is a potent recipe for comedy!

We are located at 1260 22nd Street, Denver, CO 80205, on 22nd between Larimer & Lawrence, two blocks southeast of Coors Field.  Check our Map & Parking page for directions & more details.

Check our Map & Parking page for some parking options.

Don’t panic!  Check out our Rockies Game Parking page for a detailed breakdown of where you can park for cheap.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $9 night of show.  Dinner Detective tickets start at $49/person, dinner included.  Special event tickets may vary in price. After your show, you are welcome to stay and see the rest of that night’s shows on the house!

We open at 5:00 PM Wednesday through Saturday. We close around 11:00 PM Wednesday and Thursday, and midnight Friday and Saturday. The theater and bar are dark Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, except for classes and/or special events. Check our Special Events page for more info.

We have shows Wednesday through Saturday, and we have at least two shows each of those nights.  Shows begin for the night at 8:00 PM, except for Dinner Detective which starts at 6:30 PM. Check our Show Calendar page for specific dates.

Most shows are an hour long.  Dinner Detective shows are about three hours long, with dinner included in that time. After your show, you are welcome to stay and see the rest of that night’s shows on the house!

Yep, we sure do!  We have a full bar and experienced bartenders to take care of you.

We will have TBA bar specials every night, that may be announced on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well as at the bar.  All the more reason to follow us!

Absolutely! Any drinks purchased at our bar can be brought into and enjoyed in the theater. No alcohol purchased outside our bar can be brought into the theater or bar, and all drinks purchased at the bar must be consumed on the premises. Any guests under the age of 40 will be asked to show ID before purchasing drinks.

Dinner Detective shows include dinner as part of the show.  For our other shows, free popcorn is available in the bar, and if you want something more substantial, Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs is just around the corner from us, offering a huge array of exotic hot dog and hamburger choices, including vegetarian and vegan options.

We are planning our karaoke schedule, and will announce it soon.

Yes!  The Voodoo Comedy Playhouse is proud to be handicapped and wheelchair accessible.  The theater and bar are entirely on the first floor, and our restrooms are accessible as well.

The Voodoo Comedy Playhouse is all ages until 10:30 PM, after which the bar and theater are 21+ only.  No one under the age of 21 will be admitted into the bar or theater after 10:30 PM. Any guests under the age of 40 will be asked to show ID before purchasing drinks.

While the Voodoo does have an all-ages policy (until 10:30 PM), many of our shows are suited for a more mature audience.  Keep in mind that many shows are unscripted in nature, and while you generally won’t hear anything objectionable during most shows, some content may be unsuitable for young children or teenagers.

Dinner Detective performances have a hard age limit of 8 years old, and a recommended age limit of 10 years old.

Not for most shows.  Dinner Detective shows have a business casual/dressy casual dress code.

We sure do!  The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show and Hit and Run: Musical Improv have entertained thousands of private show clients over the past three years, and we’d love to do the same for your group, large or small.  Hit up the Private Events page for more info.

Like most theaters, all sales are final.  Due to limited seating capacity and our arrangements with our unions and vendors, we are unable to refund money once reservations have been made.  In some circumstances, we are able to transfer reservations to another show; please contact our box office at 303-578-0079 for details.
